The Central Committee (CC) meeting of the ruling UCPN (Maoist) has been deferred
till November 13 as the meeting of the first day on Thursday could not take up the
agendas amidst dispute.
In the meeting which lasted for half-an-hour at the party headquarters in Peris
Danda, party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented a brief proposal on
the political situation and the internal dispute of the party while vice chairman
Mohan Baidya presented 10- point document opposing the latest moves of
the party leadership, especially the signing of the agreement on concluding the
peace process on November 1.
After the presentation of the proposals, chairaman Dahal announced deferral of
the meeting citing time constraint. The much awaited meeting was expected
to discuss ways to resolve the internal dispute on a number of issues
including the recent peace deal, the 4-point agreement with United Democratic
Madheshi Front (UDMF) that paved the way for Bhattarai-led government, the
handover of the keys of the arms containers and investment deal with India.
